Phoneme: ǫ́
IPA: [ṍ]
ǫ́ [ṍ]: mid back short vowel, nasalized, high tone
Word: hólǫ́ [hó.lṍ] “It exists” Syllable type: CV.CV
Description: Two CV syllables. The final syllable is a voiced lateral fricative followed by a mid back short nasalized, high tone vowel, ǫ́ [ṍ]. This is an open syllable. In addition, this is also a nice example of what a glottal fricative h looks like. There is no constriction in vocal tract but only at glottis.
